Urge Authorities To Start Sumo Service In The Area
Srinagar: The residents of 90-feet Soura on Friday complained of difficulties in commuting to other parts of the city and elsewhere due to the absence of proper public transportation facilities.
A delegation of residents complained that they were facing numerous problems as the area lacks proper public transportation facilities. They said that the area spread from Soura to Ahmad Nagar comprises government and private sector employees, businessmen and students, who face a lot of difficulties in reaching their workplaces due to lack of public transportation.
“We won’t have any means of public transport to reach Lal Chowk, Jehangir Chowk, or the other parts of the uptown city,” the residents said. They said to reach the city, they have to walk several kilometers to catch a bus or a cab at Soura or Buchpora.
“If the Sumo service is started along the 90-feet road, it will give us a much-sought relief. It will surely make our travel easy,” they said.
The residents urged Lieutenant Governor administration to intervene and to direct transport authorities to start a cab service in their areas.
