Srinagar- Police on Wednesday arrested an army man for allegedly molesting a 36-year-old woman in Uri town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Hawaldar Parvaiz Hussain of 173 Territorial Army’s engineering unit, presently attached with 18 MLI Bandi in Uri was arrested by police after allegations of molestation were made against him by a woman from Paranpeelan village, reports said Wednesday. The accused is said to be a resident of Doda district.
According to police, a case FIR No168/20 under sections 457, 376, 511 of IPC have been registered against the accused soldier and further investigations have been started in this regard.
Meanwhile, the soldier was produced before a local court, where he was sent to 7-day police remand.
