Srinagar: A day after former JNU leader Shehla Rashid’s father accused her daughter of taking Rs 3 crore for joining politics, ex-Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement (JKPM) President Shah Feasal on Tuesday said that his name was being dragged into family dispute and that he was open for any probe.
Taking to micro-blogging website Twitter, the former IAS topper said “As far as my name has been dragged into the family dispute of a former colleague, I want to make it clear that I have neither met nor consulted any of the terror accused persons, directly or indirectly, not to speak of seeking their support or benefitting from them.”

He said, “In the US also, in 2018, I have been very careful with my actions and utterances and never said anything prejudicial to the security and integrity of the country. Having been in the IAS, I am fully aware of the redlines and am very clear about where I stand.”
“While I know the perils of public life, I feel extremely sad to see my name being dragged into something with which I am not even remotely associated. I will be glad to go before @JKP NIA CBI ED and assist in the investigation if required,” the former JKPM President said in another Tweet.
Faesal was reacting to serious allegations leveled by Abdul Rashid Shora, the estranged father of student activist Shehla Rashid, demanding that a probe be initiated into her NGOs and also accused her of having taken a huge amount of money for joining politics in Kashmir valley, a charge denied by her.
“She had taken Rs three crore to join politics in Kashmir from (former MLA) Engineer Rashid and (businessman) Zahoor Watali (both of whom were arrested last year by the National Investigation Agency for their alleged involvement in terror funding case),” Shora had claimed on Monday.
Shehla joined politics and became a founding member of JK Political Movement floated by IAS topper turned politician Shah Faesal. However, she later announced her “dissociation with the electoral mainstream in Kashmir” last year.
