Principal GMC Srinagar Among 610 New Cases
Srinagar: At least five more people on Saturday succumbed to coronavirus infection in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, taking the number of Covid-19 deaths in the Union Territory to 1373.
While Kashmir valley reported one coronavirus death on Saturday, four others were confirmed by the officials from the Jammu division. The victim from Kashmir valley was a 60-year-old woman from Chinkipora Sopore.
Official sources said that she was admitted to SMHS on October 12 and was diagnosed with bilateral community acquired pneumonia.
Four deaths took place in Jammu and include three from Kishtwar and Doda
With these deaths, the fatality count has reached 919 in Valley and 454 in Jammu.
Srinagar district with 328 deaths tops the list followed by Jammu (236), Baramulla (134), Budgam (90), Pulwama (76), Kupwara (72), Anantnag (70), Kulgam (43), Bandipora(42), Rajouri (45), Doda (40), Shopian (33), Ganderbal (30), Kathua (29), Udhampur (25), Samba (24), Poonch (22), Ramban (11), Kishtwar(11) and Reasi (6).
Principal GMC Srinagar Among 610 New Cases
Jammu and Kashmir reported on Saturday 610 new cases of coronavirus, including Principal Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar and 28 travellers, taking the number of people infected across the Union Territory to 87364.
While 247 new cases were reported from Jammu Division, in Kashmir valley confirmed 363 fresh cases, including Prinicpal GMC, Dr. Samia Rashid, who was on the forefront of the fight against Covid-19, tested positive for pathogen on Saturday.
Giving the district wise details, officials said, Srinagar reported 129 cases, Budgam 32, Baramulla 58, Pulwama 28, Kupwara 25, Anantnag 19, Bandipora 36, Ganderbal 24, Kulgam 6, Shopian 6, Jammu 116,Rajouri 16, Udhampur 10, Doda 17, Kathua 8, Poonch 11, Samba 8, Kishtwar 38, Ramban 19 and Reasi 4.
Moreover, they said, 809 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals— 405 from Jammu Division and 404 from Kashmir Valley. (With GNS inputs)
