Srinagar- An encounter is underway between militants and state forces in Chadoora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday, police said.
State forces launched a cordon and search operation in Chadoora area Budgam district after receiving specific information about the presence of militants in the area, a police official said.
He said the search operation turned into an encounter after the militants opened fire at a search party of the forces, who retaliated.
The exchange of fire is going on and further details are awaited, the official said.
