Srinagar: An alleged notorious drug peddler from Shalimar here was booked under the under Public Safety Act (PSA), police said Thursday.
35-year-old Shakeel Ahmad Bhat of Matti Mohalla Shalimer was booked under PSA after a huge quantity of contraband substance was recovered from his possession and a case FIR No 05/2019 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Harwan in this regard, a police spokesperson said.
“Accordingly the case was duly processed and the arrested drug peddler was detained under Public Safety Act after obtaining sanctions from the concerned authorities and shifted to Kotbilwal Jail Jammu,” he said.
