Lashkar Commander Saifullah Among 2 Militants Trapped In Srinagar: IGP

Srinagar- A Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) commander Saifullah was among two militants trapped in Rambagh area of Srinagar where an encounter is going on since morning, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir zone Vijay Kumar said Monday.

Talking to reporters near the encounter site, the IGP said that Pakistani militant Saifullah and a south Kashmir resident are trapped and the operation is going on.

“Saifullah was involved in September 24 attack in Chadoora in which ASI of CRPF was killed. He was also involved in the killing of two CRPF men and injuring three at Kandizaal, Pampore,” the IGP said.

He said adding that we will soon neutralize him, adding that they are moving carefully to avoid any collateral damage.

He said that militants were offered surrender as part of the SOP but they refused.
