Srinagar: The administration of SK institute of medical sciences Soura has suspended 7 nurses on charges of inciting paramedics to holding demonstration against the hospital’s three-tier shift decision.

SKIMS Administration in its first order suspended 4 nurses following which their colleagues staged protest demanding revocation of the suspension order besides demanding an end to three tier shift system, sources said. After the protest, the administration issued one more order suspending 3 more nurses.

The suspension of 7 Nurses by virtue of two formal orders has created panic among protesting Nurses who are now reluctant to open up on the issue.

Pertinently, SKIMS nursing has vehemently opposed administration’s three-tier shift system that has been put in place amid Covid-19.

Medical Superintendent, SKIMS Dr Farooq Jan told news agency KNT that these decisions were taken in the interest of patients.

He confirmed the suspension of 7 Nurses, however, added they will be reinstated at appropriate time.
