Jammu: A man has been arrested for sharing on social media pictures of security installations in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district, police said on Friday.
Police are probing the angle of spying in this connection, they said.
According to the police, there was information that the 22-year-old man, identified as Kuljeet, was sharing pictures of vital security installations and receiving payment in return, they said.
Investigation in the matter is underway, the police added.
Meanwhile, Hindustan Times reported that the youth, according to the police was spying for Pakistan since 2018 and he had shared some images of bridges and other vital formations with his contacts across.
Giving details, Samba district police chief, SSP Rajesh Sharma told HT, “The accused was arrested on Wednesday evening for sharing classified information and images with an unknown source across the border via social media sites. We have also detected money transactions in his bank account.”
He had also claimed to have recovered four mobile phones and few SIM cards from his possession.
