4 Doctors, 20 Security Men Among 636 New Cases
Srinagar: At least fifteen more people succumbed to coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, raising the number of fatalities since the outbreak of pandemic in the Union territory to 1308.
While Jammu division reported 12 more fatalities on Friday, three people also succumbed to the deadly infection in the Kashmir valley, officials said.
Among others, the victims from Jammu division included a 90-year-old, a 52-year-old woman, a 60-year-old man and a 52-year-old man from Jammu district.
Three among the victims were residents of Kashmir Valley including an 85-year-old from Zakura, who was admitted today to a hospital here and a 70-year-old man from Gulab Bagh Srinagar, originally from Amda Kadal, who was admitted to the hospital on October 3.
With these deaths, officials said, 1308 people have succumbed to the virus in Jammu and Kashmir so far—887 from the Valley and 421 from Jammu division.
Srinagar district with 312 deaths tops the list followed by Jammu (219), Baramulla (127), Budgam (89), Pulwama (73), Kupwara (71), Anantnag (69), Kulgam (43), Bandipora(41), Rajouri (41), Doda (38), Shopian (32), Ganderbal (30), Kathua (29), Samba (24), Udhampur (22), Poonch (18), Ramban (11), Kishtwar(11) and Reasi (6).

Meanwhile Jammu and Kashmir reported on Friday 636 fresh cases of Covid-19, including twenty security personnel and four doctors, taking the total number of people infected by the virus across the Union Territory to 82429.
Officials said Friday that 263 new cases have been detected in Jammu Division and the remaining 373 from the Kashmir Valley.
Giving the district-wise details, the officials said that Srinagar reported 167, Budgam 38, Baramulla 50, Pulwama 23, Kupwara 14, Anantnag 26, Bandipora 17, Ganderbal 25, Kulgam 7, Shopian 6, Jammu 101, Rajouri 31, Udhampur 26, Doda 7, Kathua 22, Poonch 10, Samba 26, Ramban 8, Kishtwar 15 and Reasi 17.
Moreover, officials said, 959 more Covid-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals— 546 from Jammu division and 413 from Kashmir Valley.
