The youth from Rathsuna area of Budgam was roaming around Vijay Chowk, when CRPF men apprehended him on the allegations that he has made a couple of rounds around the Parliament House, DNA reported.
The report said that two identity cards – one Aadhar card and a driving license – have been also been recovered from his possession
“Both the IDs have different names. While the driving license is in the name of one Firdaus, the name mentioned in the Aadhaar Card is Manzoor Ahmed Ahanger,” the report claimed.
Quoting unidentified CRPF officials, the report says that the arrested youth has been changing his statements which aroused further suspicion about him.
“First, he said that he had come to Delhi in 2016. Then he said that he had come to the national capital during the coronavirus-induced lockdown. He told the CRPF officials that he has been staying in Delhi since then. The man, whose identity is not clear yet, said that he first stayed in Jamia locality, then near the Jama Masjid area in Nizamuddin,” the report added.
Meanwhile, the family of the detained youth said that he had gone to Delhi before lockdown to retrieve money grabbed by a fraudster.
“My son is innocent. The Delhi police can verify his innocence from everyone here. He went to Delhi only to retrieve his money from a fraudster and return it to the people he has borrowed from,” mother of the detained youth said.
She said her son had also decided to work in the Indian capital to earn some money and return to the borrowers after he was told by the traders that his money is stuck with a scoundrel.
