10 More Lives Lost to Covid-19 in J&K, Toll 246

Srinagar: Ten more patients, who were tested positive for COVID-19 died in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, thus taking the total number of deaths here due to the virus to 246.

Officials said that patients who died include an 80-year-old woman from Rainawari Srinagar, a 59-year-old man from Turkawangan Shopian, an 84-year-old man from Kanispora Baramulla, a 50-year-old woman from Rajouri, a 75-year-old woman from Tumulahal Pulwama, a 70-year-man from Bunglow Bagh Baramulla, a 65-year-old man from HMT Srinagar, a 45-year-old woman from Shaheed Gunj Srinagar, a 70-year-old man from Checkra Baramulla and a 48-year-old woman from Karan Bagh Gadi Garh Jammu.

An official said that an 84-year-old man from Baramulla who was admitted on July 16 died at SKIMS on Saturday late night. He said the patient was suffering from bilateral Pneumonia.

He said that a 45-year-old woman who was suffering from Pneumonia and other ailments and was admitted on July 13, died at SKIMS on Sunday.

He said that two patients including an 80-year-old woman from Rainawari Srinagar and a 59-year-old man from Turkawangan died at CD hospital.

Both the patients were suffering from Pneumonia and other ailments, he said.

He said that a 70-year-old patient from Checkra Baramulla, who was very ill and admitted on July 08, died at CD hospital on Sunday evening.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Rajouri, Sher Singh told KNO that a 50- year-old diabetic patient who was tested positive for COVID-19 passed away at Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu this morning.

An official from SMHS said that a 75-year-old woman from Tumluhal Pulwama who was admitted on July 15 and was suffering from many ailments, died at SMHS on Sunday.

An official from JVC Bemina said that a 65-year-old man from HMT Srinagar, who was tested positive for COVID-19, died on Sunday afternoon.

An official from GMC Baramulla said that a 70-year-old patient, who was suffering from some ailments, died at GMC Baramulla on Sunday.

An official from GMC Jammu said that a 48-year-old lady who was admitted on Sunday morning and had a travel history of Poonch, died at GMC Jammu at around 6 pm.

She was tested positive for COVID-19 after her death, he said. With 10 more deaths, the death toll due to COVID-19 has reached to 246 including 226 from Kashmir and 20 from Jammu.
