HEARTBREAKING images have emerged from Apple town of Sopore showing a wailing kid trying to wake up his dead grandfather on a roadside. After his shrieks fail to move the dead man, the three-year-old walks towards the CRPF trooper standing on a shooting position.
Next photo shows the sniveling kid sitting inside a police jeep, before being lapped by a female cop, comforting the inconsolable child with biscuits and chocolates.
Kashmir witnessed these devastating images on Wednesday when a shoot-out took place between militants and CRPF patrol party at Model Town in Sopore. Police said the slain civilian was killed in the “cross-firing”.

JK Police took to its twitter account to laud one of its cops for “saving the life” of the kid. The cop can be seen consoling the crying kid whose clothes were stained with his fallen grandfather’s blood.
Everything becomes a propaganda tool in the bloody violence in Kashmir. A three year old toddler has to have his misery broadcast to the whole world to drive home the “we good they bad” message. We would have got the point without his misery being filmed & shared so please don’t.

The slain civilian was identified as Bashir Ahmad Khan, 60, of Mustafa Colony HMT in Srinagar. His wailing son back home said his father had visited Sopore for some work.
“When an encounter took place, he was brought down from the vehicle and then killed by the CRPF,” he alleged.
Can there anything more heart searing than this? The dead body & the child define life in #Kashmir. Will this child grow up normal? Family clearly said it’s the forces. Are we not forcing him to take gun? Let justice prevail. Stop extra judicial killings at once! #Sopore pic.twitter.com/U7IeTLkd7y

As the slain civilian’s family is questioning the circumstances leading to his death, CRPF in a statement said, “Today at around 07:30 hrs Golf Coy of 179 Bn CRPF reached Model Town Chowk Sopore for Naka/patrolling duties. As the troops were de-bussing from the vehicles to occupy their respective spots of deployment, militants hiding in the attic of a nearby mosque started firing indiscriminately on the troops, resulting in injuries to four CRPF personnel. HC Deep chand succumbed to his injuries and attained martyrdom, while one one civilian died on spot in the terrorist act.”

Soon after the attack, the kid was taken back home in a police jeep. Apparently, a lady constable can be heard consoling him with biscuits and chocolates, while her male colleague is trying to divert the kid’s attention in order to calm him down.

But what shocked everyone was the kid’s image wherein he is exhorting his grandfather to wake up. Oblivious of his fate, the crying kid runs for help, before being taken away from the spot.
