Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir police on Tuesday filed a charge sheet against the three alleged militants involved in a grenade attack in this capital city in February this year.
In a handout issued today, a police spokesperson said that charge sheet was submitted before the TADA court against the three militants, who carried out an attack on a CRPF party near Pratap Park on February 2, 2020 leaving two paramilitary men and five civilians injured.
Following the attack, the police spokesperson said a case FIR No. 10/2020 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Kothibagh and investigation was initiated.
“During the course of vigorous investigation, officers with the help of advanced technical tools identified the three militants involved in the incident,” he said.
The police spokesperson said that all the three Jaish-e-Muhammad militants were arrested with evidence within four days of the incident. During the investigations, he said it was learnt that the trio were tasked to carry out grenade attacks at different places in Srinagar City, particularly Lal Chowk area, to disturb the peace and public besides posing threat to the integrity and sovereignty of the Nation,”
“Accordingly during the course of investigation, all the required evidence was collected in a professional manner against three involved militants and the case has been presented before the Hon’ble Court of Additional District and Session Judge TADA/POTA for Judicial determination,” the police spokesperson added.
