J&K Covid-19 Tally Crosses 7,000-Mark As 127 More Test Positive

Srinagar: The total number of Covid-19 cases crossed 7,000-mark in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday as 127 more people tested positive for the disease, officials said.

“127 new Covid-19 cases were detected in J&K. While 102 of them are from Kashmir, 25 are from Jammu,” the officials said.

Among fresh cases, 31 cases were reported from Srinagar followed by 22 from Budgam, 16 from Kupwara, 11 from Pulwama, 10 from Udhampur, eight from Jammu, seven from Kulgam, six from Baramulla, four from Ganderbal, three from Kathua, two each from Shopian, Anantnag & Doda and one each from Bandipora, Ramban & Poonch, they said.

Four districts — Samba, Rajouri, Reasi and Kishtwar — had no fresh cases.

According to officials, 91 more patients recovered and were discharged from different hospitals.

The cases detected on Sunday included 27 people who had returned to J&K recently.

The number of confirmed cases has now reached 7,093 out of which 5,559 are in Kashmir, while 1,534 are in Jammu, the officials said.

There are 2,683 active cases of the coronavirus disease in J&K — 2,241 in Kashmir and 442 in Jammu — and 4,316 (3,235 from Kashmir and 1,081 from Jammu) patients have recovered, according to officials.

The J&K has witnessed 94 (83 from Kashmir, 11 from Jammu) Covid-19 deaths so far.
