198 More Test Covid-19 Positive In J&K, Cases Rise To 4,285

Srinagar- 198 more people tested positive for Covid-19 in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, taking the number of cases in J&K to 4,285, officials said.

“198 new COVID-19 cases were detected in J&K. While 165 of them are from Kashmir, 33 are from Jammu,” the officials said.

Among fresh cases, 40 were reported from Budgam, 33 from Baramulla, 31 from Shopian, 14 from Anantnag, 12 from Jammu, 11 each from Kupwara & Kathua, 10 from Kulgam, nine each from Srinagar & Bandipora, seven from Pulwama, four each from Poonch & Samba and one each from Ganderbal, Rajouri & Doda, they said.

They said that 108 patients recovered and were discharged from different hospitals.

The number of confirmed cases has now reached 4,285, out of which 3,363 are in Kashmir, while 922 are in Jammu, the officials said.

There are 2,916 active cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in J&K — 2,211 in Kashmir and 705 in Jammu — and 1,324 (1,112 from Kashmir and 212 from Jammu) patients have recovered, according to officials.

The J&K has witnessed 45 COVID-19 deaths so far (40 from Kashmir, 5 from Jammu), including the four deaths that took place on Monday.
