Bandipora Milkman’s Contact Tracing Starts

Srinagar: The administration in Bandipora district on Wednesday started door-to-door operation to trace contacts of a milkman, who tested positive for coronavirus on Tuesday.

According to the reports, medical teams have started a major operation in Naidkhai area to trace the contacts, mostly females of a 35-year-old milkman who tested positive for coronavirus at the SKIMS hospital here. The officials believe that many women may have comeinto contact with this milkman and may have contracted the infection.

Bandipora district has recorded 53 cases, 26 from Gund Jahangir hamlet.

Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Shahbaz Mirza said that contacts will be traced, quarantined and tested. He said that milkman who was tested positive, had come into contact with an already Covid-19 patient.

“The situation is under control and there are no reports of community transmission of this lethal virus,” news agency KNT quoted him as saying.
