Srinagar: A senior police officer, who went into isolation after his mother-in-law tested positive to Covid-19 on Friday, was found negative to the deadly infection.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Crime Branch, Imtiaz Ismail Parray was today found negative to Covid-19 after his test was repeated today by the doctors, new agency KNT reported.

“Earlier, his first test turned out to be negative and for re-confirmation his samples were taken and again his test was found negative,” Head of Department Chest Disease Hospital Dr Naveed Shah said.

Parray, whose mother-in-law from Khanyar area of Srinagar city, became the first positive case of Coronavirus in the Valley on March 18 last month had quarantined himself although he had no direct contact with her mother-in-law after her return from Saudi Arabia.  “Both the tests of the police officer have been found negative.

Pertinently, the mother-in-law of the officer was discharged from the SKIMS Soura after her recovery from the lethal Covid-19 infection. The elderly woman was declared positive and henceforth discharged from the hospital. (KNT)
