Bandipora: Police on Thursday registered a case against a man, associated with Tablighi Jama’at, for concealing his travel history in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
The man hailing from Aloosa village of Bandipora had attended the congregation at Jama’at Markaz in Nizamuddin area of Delhi.
An official said that a member of Tablighi Jama’at, who had attended an event at Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi last month, had returned to Valley on March 21st, however, he had not reported his travel history so far despite repeated calls from the administration for the same.
He said that as many people who had attended the event at Nizamuddin, have now been tested positive for COVID-19, it was imperative on part of the authorities to trace these people to stop further spread of this deadly virus.
The official said that he has now been shifted to a quarantine centre and a case under relevant sections of law has also been slapped on him.
