Govt Mulls To Convert KU’s Zakura Campus Into Quarantine Center

Divisional Commissioner Kashmir visited University of Kashmir Campus at Zakura on Saturday

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir administration is mulling to convert Zakura campus of University of Kashmir into a quarantine facility, as the Valley on Saturday witnessed a spurt in coronavirus cases.

According to an official spokesperson, the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Pandurang K Pole today visited University of Kashmir Campus at Zakura to review preparedness and arrangements in the institution for future exigency of COVID -19 suspects.

He inspected the campus and reviewed all facilities which are required for Coronavirus suspected persons as per advisory.

“He directed concerned to ensure all arrangements for Coronavirus suspects which include proper sanitation, fumigation, sensitization, adequate stocks of masks, Personal Protection Equipment, testing facilities, besides quarantine & isolation wards and other logistic support are in ready mode, for future exigency,” the official spokesperson added.

Director Health Services, Dr Sameer Mattoo, Principal GMC Dr Saima Rashid, Deputy Director Health Services and other concerned officers accompanied the Divisional Commissioner.
