Srinagar: Unidentified gunmen on Friday shot dead a youth in Redwani area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
25-year-old Merajuddin Bhat, son of Muhammad Akbar was shot at and injured by unidentified gunmen at Redwani this evening, news agency GNS reported. An auto driver by profession, Bhat was removed to public health centre (PHC) Qaimoh for treatment.
However, the doctors there referred him to GMC Anantnag for specialised treatment.
“He succumbed to his injuries at the hospital,” Medical Superintendent GMC Anantnag, Dr Majeed Mehrab said.
Bhat had received five shots in his arms and legs.
Soon after the incident, government forces launched a hunt to nab the assailants.
