Woman, Thy Name is Strength

Woman, a word that is formed by adding “wo” to man, I believe this “wo” is an acronym for wonder.

Woman, a word that is formed by adding “wo” to man, I believe this “wo” is an acronym for wonder. In my life I have experienced different shades of being a woman. I have been a daughter, a sister, a grand-daughter and most importantly a wife, I would not have known the power of a woman had I not experienced all these roles.

My journey from being a little girl to being a woman has been a journey of struggle, happiness, pain and learning. This journey metamorphosis me into an altogether different person and helped me gain insights into my deeper self. For me being a woman is a blessing from almighty because the onus of morality and wellbeing of a family rests on the shoulders of a woman. She can either make a family or break a family; she sets a good example for her daughters who imbibe the values taught by her. On this women’s day, I wish to share with readers, life of woman as a daughter, a wife and a mother to pay tribute to all the women on this planet who continue to empower and uplift others.

Life as a Daughter

When a girl is born, she opens the doors for blessings in her family, as a daughter she values her parents and the sacrifices they make to bring her up. A daughter gets  basic education from her mother who feeds her with all the values and ethics to be used in her future.

A mother is someone who plays a pivotal role in influencing the psyche of her daughter and her character. As a young girl, I would see my mother performing her duties as a wife, mother, sister and daughter in law simultaneously without a fail, she would cater to the needs of her family, neighbours and relatives patiently without waiting for any accolades and honours. I guess this is what all women do, even though they deserve loads of praises for keeping a family together, they are hardly appreciated for the guts they display.

As a daughter I have realised that no matter what, you should never let down your family and spread love in a family that is broken, this is what I have learnt from my mother, I have learnt compassion, empathy, morality and patience from my mother and today I thank her for all the values she has inculcated in me.

Life as a wife

Life gets completely transformed for a woman once the tag of wife is added to her identity. Her priorities, her identity, her personality and her character gets completely transformed once she assumes the role of a wife, as a wife, she has to look after her husband, his minute details, starting from his handkerchief to major life decisions, she has to act as  support system for her husband and his family. The peace of a family depends on the new entrant who is not just a wife but a new member to the family. She witnesses the joys, sorrows, struggles, pain, anxieties of her new family and has to put on a cheerful face to keep the family moving.

As a wife, she has to dispense off all her responsibilities without a crease on her face, and believe me you, that is where the respect for a woman lies. A woman who tries to belittle her in laws or tries to create a rift between his husband and his family has to face the wrath of Almighty not to forget about this world. As a wife, i have realised that the priorities of my husband are more than my own parents, I have realised that his wellbeing comes first before my own self and my decisions are completely dependent on the will of my husband, as a wife I have realised that a woman who knows how to keep her family happy finds an inner solace and happiness. As a wife, I have realised that a perfect relation withstands the test of time and comes out more glowing.

Life as a Mother

Whenever I fall down, I scream “mom” ,whenever something slips from my hand, I scream “mom”, when someone pinches me I scream “mom”, theses are few instances to prove the influence of  mother in my life. A mother is someone who is our go to person every time, a mother goes through tremendous pain, strain, courage and labour to bring a child in this world, and right from womb to tomb, a mother is responsible to act as a nurse, teacher, doctor and dietician for her child. A mother is not just a woman but a superwoman who acts like a shield to her child.

Tailpiece: A woman if treated in a proper way does not need to be empowered because this is something congenital in her, she does not need a day to celebrate her identity or achievements but she just needs to be treated the way she deserves, proper care, respect love, trust and understanding is what a woman deserves and desires.
