Ailing CRPF Jawan Shoots Self Dead at Srinagar Secretariat

Srinagar – A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) constable who was ailing and under treatment  committed suicide by shooting himself dead with his service rifle in Srinagar on Saturday.

Officials said that a CRPF trooper, identified as Head Constable Dilbagh Singh of 23 Battalion, posted at Srinagar Civil Secretariat, shot himself while on duty at around 12:30 AM.

Soon after the incident, his colleagues rushed towards him and found him in a pool of blood.

The injured Head Constable was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead, they said. A CRPF official said that the Singh was sick and under treatment since past few weeks.
