Div Com Discusses Mutton Rates

SRINAGAR: The Divisional Com­missioner Kashmir, Baseer Ah­mad today convened a meeting to discuss mutton rates in the Valley.

During the meeting thread­bare discussion was held on ways to ensure price control of Mutton across Kashmir Divi­sion.

The Divisional Commissioner directed all Deputy Commis­sioners (DCs) to examine every parameter including transpor­tation, remunerative prices to local sheep breeders for rear­ing. The renewing of old & issu­ance of new licenses to whole­salers and butcheries was also discussed in the backdrop of court order.

All DCs were asked to orga­nize meetings with FCS&CA, Sheep Husbandry, Health Of­ficers, Legal Meteorology and Food safety departments at district level immediately to discuss the parameters and send their suggestions within three days to the Divisional Commissioner’s office for fur­ther course of action so that people can purchase meat on government notified rates.

Deputy Commissioner Sri­nagar Dr Shahid Iqbal Choud­hary, Director FCS&CA Bashir Ahmad Khan, Joint Control­lers of Legal Metrology & Food Safety, Health officers, Representatives of Mutton Wholesaler & Dealer unions and other concerned officials were present in the meeting where as other Deputy Com­missioners participated the meeting through video confer­encing.
