2 Porters Killed in Pak Shelling: Army

SRINAGAR – Two army porters on Friday were killed while three others sustained injuries after Pakistani troops restored to mortar shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district.

An army spokesperson said that around 11:00 am today, Pakistani Army initiated unprovoked shelling with mortars along LoC in Gulpur sector in district Poonch. In the Pak shelling, he said two porters were killed and three others were wounded.

The deceased have been identified as Muhammad Aslam and Altaf Hussain. The injured identified as Muhammad Saleem, Showkat Hussain and Muhammad Nawaz were removed to hospital for treatment.

“All of them were working along the LoC when the Pakistan Army fired mortar shells,” the army spokesperson added.

Meanwhile, a soldier was injured in an explosion in Jangar area of Naushera sector of Rajouri district. The injured soldier, whose name couldn’t be ascertained, was hospitalized.
