SRINAGAR – Director General of Police, J&K Dilbag Singh on Wednesday visited the twin South districts Shopian and Pulwama where he chaired security review meetings with the jurisdictional officers and took stock of situation in these districts.
The DGP was accompanied by the IGP CRPF (Ops) Rajesh Kumar, IGP Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, DIG SKR Atul Kumar Goel and DIG CRPF Awantipora B S Negi, a police spokesperson said in a statement.
The DGP chaired the officers meetings at both the district headquarters which were attended by the concerned district SSP, DSPs, SHOs and other police officials of the districts. After getting a briefing from the concerned district SSP regarding the security scenario in these districts, the DGP addressed the jurisdictional officers.
“In his address the DGP stressed upon officers to be vigilant as the enemies of peace are looking for the chances to disrupt the peace. He said that the peaceful atmosphere in the Jammu & Kashmir has been achieved after a lot of hard work and sacrifices by police & Security Forces,” the spokesperson said.
He said that the DGP impressed upon the officers that the safety and security of the people is our prime concern. He said that JKP along with other sister agencies have succeeded in creating a sense of security among the minds of the people.
“He also impressed upon the officers to work with full professionalism, sincerity and in a dedicated manner for the welfare of the people while taking due care of their security. He advised the police to continue their fight against the drugs and book all those involved in this menace,” the spokesperson said.
During these meetings the DGP also took stock of the winter arrangements for the Police personnel.
“He directed the officers to take care of jawans immediate needs, so that he can face the challenges while performing day/night duties, particularly during the winter months,” the police spokesperson added.
