Share

SRINAGAR — Mushtaq Ahmad Zargar, the head of militant outfit Al-Umar Mujahideen, on Friday said that from 7 p.m. Thursday inmates at central jail Srinagar have been subjected to “worst kind of atrocities and maltreatment” by the jail authorities.

“Inmates had heated exchange with government forces after report of blasphemy following which they were subjected to worst kind atrocities and maltreatment.

“Teargas shells and pellets were fired against the inmates,” Zargar said in a statement issued here to local news agencies.

He termed “this kind of behaviour inside jail unacceptable.”

“Those talking about dialogue as means to address Kashmir dispute are living in fool’s paradise”, Zargar said. (GNS)
