Protests In Pattan As Missing Man Found Dead

PATTAN  — The residents of Pattan area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday took out a protest rally and blocked Srinagar-Muzaffarabad highway at Pattan against the alleged murder of a man. 

The body of 30-year-old Jan Mohammad, resident of Mamoosa village of Pattan was found dead with injury marks on his face on Thursday afternoon. 

“Jan Mohammad Bhat, son of Asadullah Bhat was a driver and had gone missing on 22th march this year from his home and today locals saw his body floating the Nallah Chenbal,” locals told KNO. “The locals immediately informed the police and a team was immediately sent to the spot,” they said. 

The family members and locals carried the body of deceased and took out a protest rally and blocked Srinagar-Muzaffarabad highway at Pattan, demanding strict punishment against the culprits and fair probe into the incident. 

“We have lost our loved one, we want the police should properly investigate the incident and take a strong action against the culprits,” the protester said. Meanwhile the traffic movement was restored after an hour and the protesters dispersed peacefully.
