JAMMU Jammu and Kashmir Civil Secretariat Coordination Committee (JKCSCC) on Wednesday suspended the strike for 15 days following the assurances by the government to redress their genuine demands.
JKCSCC chairman Ghulam Rasool Mir said that decision to suspend the strike was taken after meeting with four officers including RK Goyal (Principal Secretary Home Department), Rohit Kansal (Principal Secretary Planning), Hilal Ahmad Parray (Commissioner Secretary GAD) and Charan Deep Singh (Additional Secretary GAD Services) who were asked by the Chief Secretary to negotiate with the employees issues. During the meeting, he said, deliberations were held on the issues of the employees and their grievances which among others include the diversion of slots to benefit junior KAS officers in a recently issued government order which according to Mir was in violation of Supreme court judgment titled Suraj Prakash v/s state. It was decided that a committee would be constituted under the chairmanship of Shaleen Kabra (IAS), Rohit Kansal (IAS) and Deeraj Gupta (IAS) as its members to look into the loss and diversion meant for KAS induction for promotion quota. The committee has to submit the report within 15 days time with recommendations to resolve the issues, Mir said.
The deliberations were also held on revocation of SRO 202, cadre review of planning and law services and other issues as projected and discussed by the coordination committee with Chief Secretary on 24 December last year, he said.
The Chief Secretary had informed the employees coordination Committee that all their issues are under active consideration. It was also informed by the Chief Secretary that he is taking of all these issues for the final settlement, Mir said.
Meanwhile, the coordination committee held a meeting in their union office and decided to suspend the strike for 15 days to wait for the report of the committee as decided in a meeting held under the chairmanship of RK Goyal. The secretariat employees will resume work normally from tomorrow and wait for 15 days the outcome of the committee, Mir added.
