Voice Calling, Internet Barred Within 3 Kms Of JRL Leaders Homes

SRINAGAR — Mobile internet services and voice calling were suspended in parts of Srinagar on Tuesday apparantly to prevent Kashmir’s resistance leaders to address the ongoing International conference in London.

Sources in telecom circles said that mobile data and voice call was barred within 3 kilometers range of residences of JRL leaders comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammed Yasin Malik.

The areas were the internet and voice calling services were barred include Hyderpora, Maisuma, Lal Bazar, Nigeeen and adjacent areas and as per reports it was done to scuttle live video calling address by Hurriyat leaders to Kashmir Conference going on in London.  

Chairman of Hurriyat Conference Mirwaiz Umar Farooq took to twitter: “Mobile and Internet data fully barred in parts of Srinagar within 3 kms range of JRL leadership, by authorities!!  What comes to mind is ..What an idea sirji!”
