SRINAGAR Former National Conference (NC) spokesperson Junaid Azim Matoo, on Saturday questioned the legitimacy of the elections of former chief minister and NC president, Farooq Abdullah, who won the by-elections of Srinagar parliamentary constituency last year after a mere 7 percent voters turned up to cast ballot.
After casting his vote, Matoo said what the leader of a mainstream party boycotting ULB polls has to do with the shifting of a polling booth in Srinagar.
These elections are for a credible leadership, transparency in public services and public welfare.
He said that mainstream parties which are boycotting elections owe too many explanations to the people who have seen a man like Farooq Abdullah winning Srinagar parliamentary by-poll on a seven per cent turnout.
Matoo said, leader of a political party boycotting ULB and Panchayat polls is demanding shifting of a polling booth in Srinagar. What he has to do with the location of a polling booth when his own party is boycotting the elections.
