Prayers Held for Slain Militant at KU Campus

SRINAGAR —  Large number of students on Thursday offered prayers in absentia at the University of Kashmir for the PHD scholar turned  militant, who was killed during an encounter in North Kashmir earlier on Thursday.

Hundreds of the students from various departments took out the protest march from Zakura hostel to the main gate. The protesting students later assembled at the campus and offered the prayers in absentia for the slain militants.

Wani was killed by a joint group of army’s 30 RR and SOG at village Shatgund Balla in Handwara.
