Bukhari Hints At NC-PDP Coalition to Counter BJP

Srinagar: Former Finance Minister and senior PDP leader Syed Altaf Bukhari on Friday welcomed the suggestion of J&K Civil Society Coordination Committee for tie up between NC and PDP for formation of a new government in Jammu and Kashmir to defend strongly Article 35-A and to fight communal forces. 

Talking to reporters here Altaf Bukhari said “the suggestion for NC-PDP alliance for formation of  new government so that Article 35-A is defended and challenges to Article 370 are faced is welcome.” However he made it clear that tie up between NC and PDP for formation of a new government to fight rise of communal forces are his personnel views but not of the party. 

He also condemned the killing of youth this week reiterating therein “the killing of youth was a cold blooded murder.” He regretted central governments discouraging response to the offer of dialogue from Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, saying that it is very unfortunate that the offer of dialogue from Pakistan was not responded well by the present central government.”

As already reported J&K Civil Society Coordination Committee led by Muzafar Shah recently urged National Conference and PDP to form a new government to fight strongly article 35-A and challenges to Article 370 in Supreme Court of India and strongly.

Meanwhile National Conference General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar said that the decision with regard to coalition will be taken by party high command but PDP choose to join hands with BJP when party’s vice president Omar Abdullah offered unconditional support to it. “The PDP-BJP government is responsible for what we are going through now,” he said.
