KULGAM Kulgam family on Thursday refuted the claims that Rifat Jan was suffering from some heart ailments. She was hale and hearty and died due to shock when heard about his brothers arrest, said the family members.
Pertinently, a 23 year old girl Rifat Jan was declared dead by doctors after she reportedly suffered a heart attack. The family members said that she died after hearing that her brother has been picked up by army, a claim already refuted by police.
While talking to news agency CNS, Hidayatullah Rather, the brother of the victim, who hails from Ashmuju Kulgam said: I was intending to drop my friend in an auto rickshaw at Kanchoo village. A column of army soldiers stopped us and we were taken to 9 RR camp. The news reached somehow to my family. It shocked my sister and she suffered heart attack.
Hidayatullah said that he along with five persons were kept in the camp for 15 minutes. The soldiers didnt beat me and released me after questioning. Shortly after coming out from the camp, I received a phone call about the fateful incident, he said.
When asked police is refuting your claims, he said: I dont know what they are saying. I only know that I was detained in the army camp and when my sister heard about the incident she died due to shock, Hidayatullah said adding that her sister was healthy and not suffering from any ailment. (CNS)
