Appointment Of Professors And Lecturers:Non-Medico Aspirants Seeks Governors Intervention

Share

SRINAGAR — The non medico aspirants who had applied for post of Assistant Professor/Lecturer in newly created medical colleges of  Jammu and Kashmir Thursday said that they are facing bias and intimidation from authorities in the Public Service Commission.

They said they were eligible for the said posts as per the notification of J&K PSC Dt. 31-08-2018 (Annexure I). However just two working days before interview some of them were declared ineligible (Annexure II)  and were told verbally that teaching /research experience only after PhD will be considered. “This is against recruitment rules, against norms and to deliberately favour blue eyed candidates with lesser credentials and publications. Because of same some of us were constrained to approach court of law and somehow managed to appear in the interview for said post held on 19th of Sep 2018 on court directions.”

The aspirants said that in a clandestine manner PSC authorities went against their own criteria of marks distribution which were placed on the official website of J&K PSC prior to interview. “Medico candidates were given 25 marks for their post graduate degree (MD) as notified earlier. However, all non medicos were forced to sign a document on the day of interview  wherein we were intimidated into accepting that for our category  marks will be given on pro rata basis out of 25  as per percentage in  post graduate degree( M.Sc. Biochemistry). Same is totally unfair as none gets 100%.”

They demanded that matter should be thoroughly investigated and results of interview should be put on hold till justice is delivered. (CNS)
