Some officers hell-bent on introducing corporate culture
SRINAGAR With Governor administration contemplating to privatize the power sector in the State, the Government employees in unison opposed the move and termed it a conspiracy to grab Valley resources.
Jammu and Kashmir Electrical Employees Union has decided to go for strike from September 25 against the proposed decision. They are alleging that few high rank officers of JK Power Development Department are hell bent to introduce Corporate Culture in the department explicitly for their personal gains at jeopardy of all stakeholders, other songs of earning profits from Corporate Culture are mere hoax when compared to the statistics of the other States in this regard.
The electrical employees who staged a protest here in Kashmir capital Srinagar said that till date the aim for which JK State Power Development Corporation and Chenab Valley Power Pvt Ltd were created have remained unaccomplished, thereby rendering the employees and whole organization headless and normless.
President JK Electrical Employees Union, Mir Abdul Salam Rajpori told news agency CNS that under the privatization proposal, the outside based companies would be given the charges to handle the power sector which would leave people to suffer.
Through privatization of the power sector, the water resources of the State would be exploited further. Already our water resources have been exploited since many years. But now with this step the power generated from the State will be supplied to other States while Kashmir will be left to the mercy of God, he added.
