DLSA Holds Awareness Programme On Children’s Rights In Ganderbal  

GANDERBAL — District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Ganderbal held a well organised Awareness programme on “Rights Of Children And Effective Legal Assistance To Children  Who Come in Conflict With The Law Or Are In Need Of Care & Protection” here at MB School, Manigam today.

The programme was chaired by the Principal District & Sessions Judge who is also the Chairman District Legal Services Authority, Raja Shujaat Ali Khan. Members from Juvenile Justice Board, Child welfare Committee,  Child Protection Unit of Social Welfare department, lawyers of BAR Association, Social Activists and large number of school children attended the programme.

The speakers made valuable awareness about the children’s rights and the ways to protect children.

Principal Session Judge, Raja Shujaat Ali Khan threw thorough light on the subject and elaborated various aspects of Child Rights and Protection. He also emphasised over the parents and teachers to teach moral ethics to the children and prepare them to face the different colours of life. Making them to learn laws and rights, the district judge asked children different questions so as to correct and encourage them to study and observe the need of Law and Justice.

The Judge also spoke about the ways and tactics of criminals involved in human trafficking, drugs transportation etc using the medium of innocent children and advised the audience with the ways to avoid indulging in such criminal activities. He also extended full support to create mass awareness about Children’s legal rights and safety measures.

The school management thanked Principal District Sessions Judge, JJB,  CWC and other participants for conducting such an informative awareness programme in their institution.
