Several City Areas Declared As ‘No Horn Zone’

SRINAGAR — Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan on Wednesday declared several areas in Srinagar as ‘no horn zone’.

The Divisional commissioner in an order vide number DivCom/Dev-120/2017/3056 dated 16.08.2017 has declared G.B. Panth Hospital Sonawar to Radio Kashmir Srinagar, Crossing as ‘no horn zone’. 

It reveals that all hospitals coming within the limits of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) were also declared as no horn zone, besides, all educational institutions coming within the limits of SMC were also declared as ‘no horn zone’. 

The order further reads that the premises around High Court, Srinagar and Lower Court Moominabad, Batamaloo Srinagar were also declared as no horn zone. 

Meanwhile, the traffic department advised general public to avoid honking in these areas to avoid inconvenience to the general public.

“Any person found violating the orders shall be dealt strictly as per the law,” Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), traffic city Srinagar, Tahir Gilani said.
