JAMMU A 66-year-old man, detained under the Public Safety Act (PSA) at Kotbalwal Jail, died on Tuesday at the Government Medical College (GMC) hospital here after a brief illness, a police official said.
Mohammad Hassan Malik, a resident of Pehlipora village of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, was admitted to GMC hospital on July 14, the official said.
He was suffering from multiple ailments and breathed his last today, the official said, adding that his body was handed over to his family for last rites after completion of necessary legal and medical formalities.
Malik was involved in militancy in early 90’s before joining a separatist camp and had served several jail terms, the official said, adding that he was arrested under the Public Safety Act in January and was subsequently shifted to Kotbalwal jail in Jammu.
