Weathermen Forecast More Rains From July 2

SRINAGAR- Met office here on Saturday said that there would be decrease in precipitation in Jammu and Kashmir in next 24 hours even as it forecast fresh ‘fairly widespread’ rainfall  on July 2 and 3.    

“There would be decrease in precipitation in next 24-hours and there would be fairly widespread rainfall across the state on July 2 and 3,” said a meteorological department official here.

“There is possibility of light rain or thundershower at many places over the state in next 24 hours,” he added.

Earlier Director Meteorological Department, Sonam Lotus said there was moderate, and at place heavy, rainfall due to monsoon and Western disturbances. “There is the interaction of monsoon cloud and monsoon wind– and Western disturbance — Easterly and Westerly which brought the moisture from Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal also and due to their convergence the rainfall occurred here.”
