ANANTNAG A complete shutdown was observed in Kokernag area of south Kashmirs Anantnag district to mark the first death anniversary of top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Bashir Lashkari and his associate Azad Malik alias Dada of Arwani village in south Kashmir’s Anantnag District.
Sources told Kashmir Observer that all shops and other business establishments are closed in the area while public transport is off the roads.
Bashir Lashkari a top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander resident of Sopshali village of Kokernag area was killed along with his associate Azad Malik alias Dada of Arwani village in a gunfight with government forces on July 1, 2017, at Brinty Dialgam area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag District.
Militants Offer Gun Salute
Militants on Sunday late evening appeared in Soaf Sahli, the native village of Bashir Lashkari and fired some shots in air to offer gun salute to their slain commander.
Sources said that a group of four to six militants appeared in the area shouting slogans in favour of Bashir Lashkari.
They said that the Militants later offered Fateh Khawani to Bashir Lashkar after which they fired in the air as a mark of respect to their slain colleague.
