SRINAGAR Militants on Wednesday lobbed a grenade at police station in south Kashmirs Pulwama district. However, there was no report of any damages in the incident.
A police official said that around 8:20 pm militants lobed a grenade on a police station Pulwama.
The grenade hit a water tank and exploded with a bang, he said. “No loss of life or injuries were reported, he said.
The official further said that soon after the blast, the guard on duty resorted to aerial firing.
Meanwhile, Government forces launched a search operation in Arwani area of Bijbehara in south Kashmirs Anantnag district.
Meanwhile, reports said gunshots were heard during cordon and search operation in Watoo area of Kulgam district.
Sources said as soon as government forces cordoned off the area, few gunshots were heard which created panic in the area.
The militants reportedly manage to escape from the spot taking advantage of darkness, reports added.
