Share

SRINAGAR — Police on Tuesday said that security guard at JK Bank Pinjoora in south Kashmir’s Shopian district foiled a rifle-snatching bid by the militants.

SSP Shopian, Shailendra Mishra said that some unknown men barged inside the JK bank and sprayed chili powder into the eyes of the guard and tried to snatch his rifle.

However, the guard resisted the snatching attempt despite being sprayed with the Chili powder and in the meantime the persons fled from the scene, he said.

Soon after the incident a manhunt was launched in the area to nab the attackers, he said.(GNS)
