‘Remove Bottlenecks For Early Start Of Work On Semi-Ring Road’

SRINAGAR — Divisional Commis­sioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, on Saturday directed the officers to remove all bottlenecks for the construction of Srinagar semi-ring road so that the work on the prestigious project is started at the earliest.

The Div Com was speaking at a meeting in which DDCs of Pulwama, Budgam, Baramulla, Bandipora and Ganderbal par­ticipated via video conferencing, while as District Development Commissioner Srinagar Dr Syed Abid Rashid Shah, Project Direc­tor NHAI, Assistant Commis­sioner and other officers were present in the meeting.

All the concerned DDCs pre­sented a detailed report on the status of the project in their re­spective areas.

The ring road project is 42 km long and starts from Gallandar Pampore to Manigam Ganderbal via Budgam, Srinagar, Baram­ulla and Bandipora.

The district administrations of Srinagar, Baramulla and Pulwama districts had already transferred the required land for this presti­gious project to the National High­way Authority of India (NHAI).

Divisional Commissioner di­rected NHAI to transfer pending amount to the respective Dis­trict Development Commission­ers within one week for onward disbursement among the people whose land has been taken for the road project.

Khan urged officers of various departments to work in close coor­dination and redouble their efforts so that all lacunas are removed and the construction work on this prestigious project is started soon.

The Div Com reiterated that the vital project will revolutionize the road connectivity between South Kashmir and Central Kashmir and beyond which will greatly help intra and inter-district trans­port
