Budgam Resident Detained For Wearing T-Shirt Resembling Army Uniform

POONCH — Army on Saturday detained a person from central Kashmir’s Budgam district, in Surankote area of Poonch dis­trict, after feeling suspicious about him for wearing a T-shirt resembling army uniform.

Official sources said that on Saturday at about 11:20 am, a person namely Ajaz Ahmed Wani son of Ja­mal Ahmed Wani of Darwanh, Chararshrif, Budgam, was trav­elling in a video coach bus bear­ing number JK-12-3850 towards Surankote to Jammu.

On reaching Jaran Wali Gali, Surankote, army’s search party during frisking asked the youth to show identity and questioned him for wearing T-Shirt resembling with the army uniform, they said.

Sources said when Aijaz re­vealed that he is from Kashmir, he was taken into custody.

When contacted, Station House Officer (SHO) Surankote Mohammad Anzar Mir con­firmed about the incident.

“The concerned army told us that he was in suspicious conditions and as such was ap­prehended for questioning,” he said adding that the person is in army custody.

“We are in touch with the con­cerned army with regard to the incident,” the officer said. (GNS)
