11 Rounds Of Funeral For Militant In Pulwama 

PULWAMA — People turned up in large numbers for the funeral prayers of Majid Manzoor Dar, a militant who was killed by government forces in a gunfight along with three other associates at in khiram village of Anantnag.

Amidst pro-freedom slogans, thousands of people participated in last rites for Dar at his native Talangam village of Pulwama in south Kashmir.  

People including men  and women thronged Talagam village. Men participate in the last funeral held eleven times before he was laid to rest amid pro-freedom slogans. .

The body was handed over to legal heirs in the afternoon and eleven rounds of funeral were offered yesterday and four rounds today morning. He was buried at native grave yard. 

Since Friday evening, thousands of mourners from adjoining villages and far-off places had been streaming into the native village of the slain militant to participate in his last rites.

Majid joined militant ranks on 29 June in 2017 after passing 12th class examinations and was initially associated with Hizb before turning allegiance to ISJK

Majid is survived by four siblings, two brother and two sisters besides parents . 

Dar was killed along with three associates, including the chief of Islamic State Jammu and Kashmir Dawood Salafi of HMT Srinagar, in a gunfight with government forces in Srigufwara area of Anantnag district on Friday.
