SRINAGAR Education Summit was held here in Kashmir capital Srinagar by the London Education Group (LEG) in collaboration with Private Schools Association Kashmir (PSAK).
The venue was Information Auditorium at Department of Information and Public Relations.
There was discussion about emerging trends in global education and careers at International level.
Students from different reputed schools including Presentation Convent Srinagar, St Joseph Convent Baramulla, Green Valley Educational Institute, Santorum School and others participated in the discussion.
It was basically an interactive session and an effort was made through this event to bring educationists under one platform who will work in close coordination with parents and students across Kashmir Valley so that they could be exposed to outside world of education. This interactive session was organized to let students know about the options available to them at the international level, Rup Chahal, Director, London Education Group told Srinagar based news agency CNS adding that her vision is to create a platform without barriers for the students in Kashmir Valley who want to carve their own niche in various streams
During the session, multiple topics including the child development, international admissions, scholarships, exchange programs and students potential were discussed.
Besides Rup Chahal, a galaxy of eminent speakers from cross section of society showed their presence. They included Prof Tariq Chalkoo, HoD Physics Government Degree College Baramulla, G N Var, President Private Schools Association Kashmir, Radio Jockey RJ Nasir, Sheikh Adil, Deputy Superintendent of Police.
The Speakers urged upon the students to seek knowledge for personality transformation. They said knowledge is power and through this power one can transform the world and change the society. It is unfortunate that students in the present era are after jobs rather than after knowledge, lamented Prof Tariq Chalkoo.
The young police officer Sheikh Adil asked students to set a target and plan things in advance. Planning means deciding in advance what is to be done, how it is to be done and when it is be done. Set a target and think what you are passionate about. Choose that career only and you will come off with flying colours. At an early young age, a student ought to identify a career of his/her like. Once they do it, their passion turns into profession and this way life steers in calm waters without any hiccups, Sheikh Adil said.
