Noted Author G N Gowhar No More

Srinagar: Prominent columnist, author and retired Sessions Judge, Ghulam Nabi Gowhar breathed his last at his residence in central Kashmir late Monday night.

Gowhar passed away around midnight at his residence in Kralpora area after a prolonged illness, family sources said.

He was suffering from kidney malfunction.

He is the author of many books including those written on Sufi saints like Sheykh Noorudin Wali.

Late G N Gowhar has had a long association with the Kashmir Observer and his write ups have been appearing in the paper on subjects ranging from Kashmir history to art and literature.

A large number of people from different walks of life took part in his funeral prayers held in Chadoora today.

Governor N.N. Vohra has expressed grief over the demise of Ghulam Nabi Gowhar.  In a message, Governo prayed for the departed soul resting in eternal peace.
