SRINAGAR A civilian who was killed in firing by army at Nowpora Akhran in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district was laid to rest on Tuesday.
Thousands of people assembled at Nowpora Akhran to attend the funeral of Javid Ahmad Bhat who was killed yesterday in army firing.
Mourners raised pro-freedom slogans while Javid’s body was being taken to a local graveyard for burial. He was laid to rest amid sobs and tears.

Meanwhile, a complete spontaneous shutdown was observed in Kulgam district. The Internet continues to remain blocked in Anantnag and Kulgam on second consecutive day today. While as railway service also suspended to and from Srinagar to Banihal for today in wake of the killing.
Bhat was killed while another person namely Rayees suffered injuries after army according to locals opened fire into protesters in the village around 7 pm yesterday.
