PULWAMA — A young student from Awantipora town of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district has gone missing while his family through social media has been making vehement appeals to him to return to home as they believe that he has joined militant ranks.

A police official said that it will be premature to say anything at this stage. “Family has lodged a missing report at police station and we have started investigation,” the official told CNS.

Ghulam Muhammad Wani, the father of missing youth Tajamul alias Sharik who hails from Hariparigam said that his son left home on Sunday morning and didn’t return. “We are afraid that he might have joined militant ranks but at the same time we are hopeful about his return,” he added.

“We have been sharing his photographs with a message on social media appealing him to come back. The health of his mother has deteriorated and hospitalized,” he said.

The 21 year old missing youth is a final year student of BSc Lab Technology. (CNS)
